Tempo FAQ

Everything most players want to know before the first NYC bays open.

// COMING SOON

Are you open yet?

+

Not quite. We're building our first bays in NYC and the waitlist is open for players and coaches. Join it and you'll be the first to know when booking goes live.

Can I reserve a bay now?

+

Not yet — booking opens at launch. The waitlist is the best way to get early access and first pick of slots.

// THE BAY

Is this a full tennis court?

+

Nope. A bay is your own mini court — about a quarter of a full court — built for drilling against a wall-mounted ball machine. There's no opponent side, just you and your targets.

How big is one bay?

+

Roughly 20' wide by 30' long, with a padded target wall. Plenty of room for a full swing, footwork, and approach steps.

Do you provide balls?

+

We do. Every bay is loaded with fresh pressure-stable balls that recirculate automatically, so you'll never pick up a ball.

// TRAINING COURT

What is the Training Court?

+

It's a 20' x 55' court with a ball machine included — bigger than our standard bays, with more room to run, rally, or run a lesson.

How much does the Training Court cost?

+

$150 per hour. That covers the court and the ball machine. If you book a Tempo coach, their lesson rate is set separately.

Can I bring my own coach to the Training Court?

+

Yes. You can reserve the court for your coach and pay the hourly court rate. Your coach handles their own fee directly with you.

// BOOKING

How long are sessions?

+

30 or 60 minutes — pick whichever fits your day.

Can I share a bay with friends?

+

Absolutely. A bay works best when you rotate, so we recommend no more than 4 people per session.

What's your cancellation policy?

+

Life happens — cancel up to 4 hours before your slot for a full credit. Inside 4 hours you keep 50% credit toward a future booking.

// COACHING

Can I train with a coach in a bay?

+

Yes. Bays are a great space for one-on-one coaching, and we're partnering with local coaches so you can book a session with one when we open.

Can I bring my own coach?

+

Of course. Bring your coach along and use the bay however works best for the two of you.

I'm a coach — can I work out of Tempo?

+

We'd love that. We're building a roster of coaches ahead of launch, so get in touch and we'll walk you through how partnering works.

// TRAINING

Do I need to be good at tennis?

+

Not at all. The machine adjusts from gentle feeds to serious pace, so beginners start slow and work up. If you can rally, you can drill.

Do I need my own racket?

+

Bring yours if you have one — if not, you can rent one at the front desk.

What should I wear?

+

Athletic wear and non-marking court shoes. Skip the jeans and street shoes — you're here to sweat.
